Trip Of A Lifetime
So much to see and do, all of us have the same opinion: The trip of a lifetime! Thank you!
We Were Planning Our Return Before We Even Left
Thinking of cruising the British Virgin Islands on a captained boat? Stop thinking and start planning. Taking a vacation on the Elixir is an experience you will not soon forget. Recently, my husband and I accompanied by four land-lover friends boarded the Elixir on St. Thomas for a week long adventure to island hop the British Virgin Islands. My husband and I are seasoned sailors, who have sailed these islands many times. Yet, each of us were excited, anticipating our adventures in this tropical paradise.
We visited some of the touristy places that everyone should see. Among these gems included, The Bathes on Virgin Gorda, Foxy’s on Jost Van Dyke, scuba diving at the Indians at Peter Island and swimming in to experience a “Pain Killer” at The Soggy Dollar. We island hopped to more places than I can count, experiencing new places to swim and explore. When the winds cooperated, the captainhoisted the sails and cut the engine. We all relished in the beauty of our surroundings, the breeze at our backs, the sun’s warmth on our bodies and the freedom of sailing on tropical blue waters. It didn’t take long before we were each able to release the stresses that accompany daily life. We rejuvenated ourselves. The crew are easy going, fun loving people that felt more like family than new friends at our journey’s end. I can’t say enough about their welcoming demeanor and willingness to make our vacation memorable.
Elixir is a comfortable 46 foot catamaran. This vessel is very roomy and accommodating. It’s spacious areas are designed to make even the new sailor experience a relaxing and stressless sailing experience. As for our group, we were planning our return before we even left Elixir. We have returned home feeling relaxed, tanned, and richer for the friendships we made.

We Could Not Have Asked for Anymore
It’s the last day of an absolutely perfect holiday! We could not have asked for anymore! The itinerary, the food & the company could not be improved on!
The Best Family Vacation Yet
A wonderful family bonding trip. We are so thankful for our wonderful hosts. You made everything enjoyable from the delicious food, gorgeous beaches, New Years Eve bash in Trellis Bay, snorkeling excursions to even 9 foot swells! You even got Maddy to eat (: This will go down in our book as the best Family Vacation yet……I say that because we plan on coming back so that we can perfect our paddle board surfing AND we need to get to Anegada. Thanks for being an amazing crew, we loved hanging out with you!
We Highly Recommend This Trip to Friends
We had a FANTASTIC time on the Elixir. I think it was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. The crew could not have been nicer, and we felt very well taken care of. The food was incredible. The boat was very comfortable and well-stocked for drinks. The captain was very knowledgeable about handling the boat, and he and the mate worked seamlessly together to handle everything. They took us to the best snorkeling and Happy Hour places and a wonderful restaurant on the beach on Anegada.
We will highly recommend this trip to friends. Thank you so much for helping us to put it together!
Captain Kevin Has a True Knack for This Line of Work!
The charter was totally awesome, and Captain Kevin turned out to be a wonderful surprise. He truly has a knack for this line of work, and as the week progressed we really encouraged him to play on his people skills (and his smile, which the ladies love) because they are his best assets.
His knowledge of the area and his efforts to find the best way to give us the experience we were after were welcome to all of us. We even “made” him invite his lady friend to meet us for dinner on our last night back at St. Thomas because we truly thought of him as a friend. Your boat is in good hands with Kevin. As a former owner of a 44′ Sea Ray Sedan Bridge, I watched as he treated and cared for everything aboard. His mechanical skills also came in handy when the gen-set sprang a leak, and he found a 2′ scrap of garden hose, 2 hose clamps and a wine bottle cork on Anegada to make the fix! As someone who used to have 150 employees, I’d keep him around for as long as you can!
I Have Never Laughed So Much!
Captain Kevin and Bri were the perfect crew for our group. Most of our group was in the middle age area with one exception of a 30 year old. We happened to travel at the time of the waves of the century -lol ! We had 8 to 10 foot waves or more the entire trip so we were not able to get to a few of the places we had planned on going to. It was a safety factor explained by Kevin and was appreciated by all. We traveled every day to a new site that he could get us into and spent the days in the sun and checking out the local sites. We did not miss what we were not able to get to.
Kevin and Bri were both very knowledgeable about the area and knew where to take us to have fun. The boat was clean as were the rooms. Plenty of room for our stuff. Every day while we were traveling we sat on top and looked forward to where we were going.
The food we had requested was at hand and was marvelously cooked by Bri. She really has a knack for putting food together and presenting it. I even tried food that I have never tried in my life like brussel sprouts! The way she cooked them made them tasty.
I have never laughed so much on a trip before and we embraced Kevin and Bri as part of our group.
Had an awesome time and looking forward to doing it again. I enclosed a pic of all of us when we were about to leave to head for home. Thanks for an awesome and unforgettable trip!

We Did Everything We Wanted and Much, Much More!
Captain Kevin is fantastic; he is very skilled at his craft, professional and fun! It was so refreshing to have a captain that made us feel very safe while at the same time being a welcome member of the group and joining us in laughs! Kevin’s knowledge of the Virgin Islands helped us build such an enjoyable itinerary. We did everything we wanted and much much more!
It was an added bonus when we realized Kevin was a fisherman. We caught a bunch of fish in deep water going from island to island. We ended up keeping a grouper and mackerel to eat. Kevin was happy to fillet them for us (not one bone found!) and he had a restaurant cook and serve the fish to us with sides. It was such a delicious and memorable meal. The fishing just may have been the highlight of the trip for all four us, so much excitement and SO many laughs! Kevin went above and beyond in every way during our week. Even up to the last hour on our charter, when he made sure that we squeezed in what ended up being the best snorkeling of the trip. We were so appreciative to maximize the trip down to the last minute.
Elixir is clean, very well-maintained and has very comfortable accommodations below deck. Although we’ve only done an adults only trip aboard, my husband and I have talked about how appealing Elixir would be for our 3 children. Water toys combined with the ability to do something new each day, would make for an unforgettable family vacation. Our hope is to be lucky enough to repeat this trip annually. Trust me, before your trip is even over, you’ll be planning your next, you just can’t help it! Until next time….
